Educational Facilities

When it comes to educational projects, L.R. Costanzo has the knowledge and experience to do the job right. Because most facilities hold year-round education programs, there's a greater chance for scheduling complications during construction. That's why, to complete these projects on time and on budget, we provide proper planning, scheduling and coordination with school administrators, educators and staff.

In fact, we performed extensive addition and renovation projects for two existing facilities that required careful integration of facades, structures, technologies and systems. One of these projects, the Scranton Preparatory School Arts and Science Addition, was awarded the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce Pride and Progress Award in 2005.

Since today's educational facilities are often hi-tech based, we have expertise working with state-of-the-art equipment such as SMART boards, fiber optics and LCD screens. We're also skilled in constructing and renovating science and research laboratories and installing mechanical hoods and specialized casework. In our experience, most educational projects require custom work, including but not limited to: custom floor finishes, walls, ceiling and cabinetry. We often use materials like limestone, marble, granite, cherry wood, cherry proscenium, multi-spec wall paint and more.

At L.R. Costanzo, we're also experienced in "Green" construction standards for educational facilities and have utilized environmentally sustainable materials and construction methods on a number of projects. At the DGS Visitor's Center in Nescopeck PA, strict attention was paid to avoid disturbing the natural surroundings of the project area.
