Commissioner Cordaro noted that the L.R. Costanzo Company’s commitment to the “time-honored values and hard work necessary to sustain a family business” is evident in every employee of the company.

During an address to the guests, Mayor Doherty commended the Costanzo family and the L.R. Costanzo Company for their “unwavering dedication to the development of Scranton, both as a community and a place of business.”  To date, the L.R. Costanzo Company is one of the leading commercial construction firms located within city limits.

Mr. Burke praised the L.R. Costanzo Company as a major contributor to “Lackawanna County’s effort to attract national and international firms to the area.  Their track record clearly indicates the ability to build the facilities these major companies need to operate in our county.”

Mr. Hailstone evoked the Costanzo family’s integrity “One of the main reasons this company got the good start that it did is that the original Lou and Tony combined a work ethic with character…the company has prospered in recent years because the Lou and Tony of today are equal in stature to their father and grandfather”.

The roots of the Costanzo business and its dedication to the region’s growth can be traced back to the mid-1940’s when stone masons Anthony F. Costanzo and his son, Louis, formed the A.F. Costanzo Company and began working on civil projects such as highways, bridges and community flood protection.  From the very beginning, quality and dependability served as cornerstones of the business.

The company and its values are passed from generation to generation.  Today, the company is led by brothers Louis A. Costanzo and Anthony L. Costanzo, who joined the firm in 1969 and 1970, respectively.  With the addition of the fourth generation of the Costanzo family, Louis E. Costanzo, in 2002, the L.R. Costanzo Company’s commitment to family values, professional integrity and the community continue to persevere.

For more than 60 years, the Costanzo family’s construction business has served as a leading provider of construction services in the Northeastern, South Central and Southeastern Pennsylvania areas. The L.R. Costanzo Company is guided by their mission to complete every project by the principals of quality, integrity, strong performance and concern for the client’s objectives.  For more information, visit www.lrcostanzo.com.
