PROJECT
This general construction project involved renovating multiple floors of Blue Cross’s corporate office. This six month project was completed without disrupting regular business operations. The renovations to the 9th floor included improvements to the executive conference room, lobby area and executive kitchen.
CHALLENGES
- Short six month time frame
- Potential to disrupt regular business operations
- Safety of both employees and craftsmen in high traffic areas of the office building
- Limited space for material storage
SOLUTIONS
- Two shifts were utilized when necessary
- Very detailed schedule was created to work around business operations
- Safety controls were employed to segregate construction and the general public
- Materials were delivered using the “just-in-time” method; delivered daily when needed
