HISTORIC RESTORATIONS

L.R. Costanzo’s skill and expertise in preserving and renovating delicate historical materials and structures is simply unmatched in our region. Our award winning projects are testament to our reputation in this sector.
The quality of our craftsmanship can be seen throughout Pennsylvania’s Capitol Complex and Lackawanna County PA’s Courthouse Square. Notable awards for historic restoration projects include PA’s Capitol Complex – The Harrisburg Builder’s Exchange 2005 Craftsmanship Award for the North and South Light Courts – and the Rare Books Vault Project, which was awarded distinguished recognition on the cover of MidAtlantic Builder’s Exchange 2008 Buyers Guide.
Paying close attention to detail in maintaining the historic integrity of our projects, we meticulously remove, catalogue, restore and repair all facets of historic materials before reinstallation. In the North and South Light Court, for example, the building’s cherished lead glass skylight was removed, restored and reinstalled. Ultimately, the renovation to the Capitol Building removed work done in the 1970’s and restored the Capitol to its former glory, when it was dedicated by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1906.
