Project
Citterio is known world-wide for providing quality meat products in Italy and around the world. Their state-of-the-art plant in Freeland, PA is the largest structure in the United States dedicated entirely to the production of ham. To further enhance its production capabilities, Citterio enlisted LRC for the expansion of their manufacturing space, specifically for the installation of new ovens and warm rooms. This ambitious project included extensive structural demolition, concrete floors, masonry walls, steel framing, and roofing. The new structure is anchored with deep foundations to support steel framing that extends 6 to 11 feet above the existing roof, providing the necessary space for enhanced production capacity.

- Meticulously planned logistics for debris removal and the delivery of new construction materials to the site
- Created specialized engineering and earth shoring systems
- Coordinated with the owner and the owner’s contractors to ensure the project remained on schedule
Construction Details
- Removed over 95 cubic yards of concrete, along with 4500 square feet of masonry block/brick wall
- The new structural steel framework exceeded the height of the existing roof and was installed adjacent to existing structural steel components, clean rooms, and masonry block walls, requiring precise layout and coordination
