PROJECT
The interior fit-out of this high-end retail space inside the famed Mohegan Sun Casino was accomplished on a fast-track schedule. These two stores (Marshall Russo and Misura) feature elaborate soffit and lighting systems to highlight merchandise.
CHALLENGES
- Successfully meshing the retail space to the existing casino facility.
- Making sure the entire project was completed in six weeks.
- Working around adjacent, finished spaces with minimal interruption.
- Procuring and coordinating custom materials and coordinates.
SOLUTIONS
- Coordinated efforts with the construction manager and the facility’s team to tie-in building components.
- Closely managed time tables and deadlines and ran multiple shifts to ensure that the project was finished within its six week window.
- Protected adjacent finished surfaces for construction and material delivery.
- Worked closely with owner and design professional to obtain custom pieces.
CONSTRUCTION DETAILS
- L.R. Costanzo experts assisted in the design and construction of an interstitial catwalk to provide access to critical building systems that require maintenance.
- The storefront consisted of full-length recessed glass panels and sliding glass doors.
