Synthes Spine Company | Cleanroom Expansion
PROJECT
Installation of a Class 10 cleanroom expanded this manufacturing facility’s capacity. Because of the owner’s precise production requirements, the cleanroom space utilized strict environmental controls to regulate temperature and minimize air contamination. The tie-ins to existing cleanrooms on this project required L.R. Costanzo to adhere to strict timelines since much of the work was performed during MTF’s shutdowns or adjacent to active production areas.
CHALLENGES
- Adjacent to active production areas
- ISO standards for piping – strict certification & welding documentation
SOLUTIONS
- Isolation plans and engineering controls
- Process piping to prepare for tie-ins accomplished during shutdowns
CONSTRUCTION DETAILS
L.R. Costanzo experts also procured, supervised and installed:
- HEPA filtration to provide 99.9995% pure air
- Process piping
- Tie-ins to existing cleanrooms
